Southernmost Point – Key West, FL
If you’re hoping for a tourist photograph here, it’s best to visit first thing in the morning, as there is usually a line of people waiting for the iconic photo.
La Creperie French Cafe – Key West, FL
It was the only restaurant on the island that we visited TWICE, which I think makes it the clear favorite for the trip.
Conch Republic Seafood Company – Key West, FL
Once we were seated, we began ordering appetizers including the conch fritters that are pretty much synonymous with the Keys. They were tasty (probably the best fritters we had on the trip) and disappeared quickly. Similarly, all of the rest of our appetizers disappeared quickly as well – we were so hungry that I barely photographed our meal!
Eggs Up Grill – Ocala, FL
If you find yourself somewhere near Ocala, FL in need of a Tesla Supercharger AND breakfast, Eggs Up Grill has got you covered.
Royce Alvin Guillebeau Jr
I want to hear your stories. I want to see your photos. Please share with me your favorite memories of Big Al. Tell me about the way that he impacted your life. We want to cling to the vibrant life and stories that he lived so that he can continue to live on with us until we can go be with him again.
Shenandoah National Park – Dark Hollow Falls
If Stony Man takes you to see the sky, Dark Hollow will take you back to the lush groundwaters. Another relatively short and easy hike, Dark Hollow Falls Trail is 1.4 miles with 564 feet of gain. It brings you down into a verdant valley and features several small falls as it follows along a small mountain creek.
Shenandoah National Park – Big Meadows
As we continued walking along the little paths that cut through the meadow, we began to see that there were deer scattered throughout – some off on their own, others in small groups. We could also see that some had tiny fawns at their heels.
Shenandoah National Park – Stony Man
With a very limited amount of time in the park I picked a couple of shorter, easier hikes that would offer the largest payoff for our time. Stony Man was at the top of the list.
Shenandoah National Park – Skyline Drive
I think that this park would be worthwhile even if you were unable to hike a single trail – Skyline Drive is such a mesmerizing drive.
James H “Sloppy” Floyd State Park
Some of our parks are not exotic destinations, but rather small pockets of greenspace in their community that offer outdoor leisure to the locals. Most of these parks would not be on a vacation list, but they make for perfectly acceptable ways to spend some time in the sun amongst friends.
