Zion Chapel of Ease
I never tire of exploring old cemeteries, and trying to uncover the stories of those within.
The Family – Sculpture
There are other beautiful pieces of art around the island, but I think this one was my absolute favorite.
Bonaventure Cemetery
I have a little bit of a love affair with Bonaventure Cemetery, located near historic Savannah, GA. But more than that, I just adore Corinne Lawton, one of the cemeteries inhabitants.
Wormsloe State Historic Site
The iconic 1.5 mile drive has over 400 live oak trees, thought to be nearly 400 years old.
Skidaway Island State Park
Despite the rain, I really enjoyed my visit to Skidaway Island State Park, and will be sure to add this to my future visits to Savannah, GA, as there are many other trails that I would like to explore – perhaps without rain next time!
The French Bakery & European Cuisine
Finding creperies has become a little bit of a travel tradition for us, and the French Bakery and European Cuisine did not disappoint.
Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge
I can’t recommend the Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge enough to anyone visiting Hilton Head – it’s a wonderful way to escape the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk and find solitude and peace in the wild wetlands.
Mitchelville Freedom Park
Mitchelville Freedom Park honors the first self-governed town of formerly enslaved people, established in 1862.
Coastal Discovery Museum
If you’ve got some time to spare and would like an afternoon of exploration, the Coastal Discovery Museum should definitely be on your list!
Watusi Cafe
The coffee was probably the best that we had during our trip, we all three ordered specialty espresso drinks, and they were all superb.
